IAM Membership Approves New Contract With Hawker Beechcraft

HBC Issues Statement on Acceptance of New Contract

There's a new contract between Hawker-Beech and the IAM... HBC Chairman and CEO Bill Boisture has issued a statement regarding the announcement that the agreement for a new five-year labor contract has been approved by a vote of the Union membership. The announcement was made by the leadership of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District Lodge 70, Local Lodges 733 and 2328.

"We are pleased with the outcome of today's vote. The partnership between the company and the Union leadership throughout this process has been productive. We look forward to building on this positive relationship throughout the next five years.

"The new contract encourages open communication, mutual respect and trust, while continuing to leverage the tremendous progress we have made. This includes offering the best training opportunities to our employees through our recent agreement with the State of Kansas.

"This is significant for our company and provides us with the opportunity to grow efficiently in the future and keep high-quality jobs in Wichita."

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation's headquarters and major facilities are located in Wichita, Kan., with operations in Salina, Kan.; Little Rock, Ark.; Chester, England, U.K.; and Chihuahua, Mexico. The company leads the industry with a global network of more than 100 factory-owned and authorized service centers.
