Airborne 09.04.12: Richard Bach Accident, QCAS Airshow Crash, Sikorsky Prize

Aviation author, Richard Bach, remains in serious but improving condition following his approach to landing accident on Saturday while flying an Amateur Built-Experimental SeaRey Amphib he purchased earlier this year. The Hoppers Jet Team has lost the newest member of the team after the crash of a L39 Albatross jet aircraft Saturday at the 2012 Quad City Airshow in Iowa. The accident occurred at approximately 1325 local time. The pilot has been identified as Glen A. Smith, 58, of Frisco, Texas. A group of students at a university in Maryland are a little closer to claiming the two-hundred-and-fifty-thousand-dollar ‘Sikorsky Prize.” All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
