Intellition’s Waiver First, Paves Way For Drone First Responder Use

Intellition, an emerging provider of drone services for mountain resorts, has received an FAA waiver for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations, a key step in utilizing Drone as a First Responder, or DFR, in complex terrain.

The FAA approval includes the integration of uAvionix’s Casia G ground-based detect-and-avoid (DAA) system.

Intellition is the first company focused only on delivering autonomous drone services tailored to mountain resorts, and this approval is a significant step in furthering its DFR capabilities in remote and challenging environments. It also validates the company’s technical approach and represents a new market category where automated drones are used to support safety, logistics, and operational efficiency at resorts.

The pilot program executed by Intellition at a premier Utah resort is a sign of growing momentum at resorts for integrating drones into general resort operations such as perimeter security, asset inspections, and rapid response to emergencies or other critical situations.
