FAA Gives Highest Maintenance Award to Raytheon
Aircraft’s In-House Repair Station
Raytheon
Aircraft’s in-house repair station has received the
FAA’s highest award – the Diamond Award – for
maintenance excellence.
The Diamond Award is the FAA’s highest honor for training,
and recognizes professional technicians and their employer. A
facility must have at least 25 percent of its employees
participating in the FAA’s Maintenance Technician Program. A
total of 185 of the 198 Raytheon Aircraft repair station employees,
or 95 percent, will qualify for an individual award. The
company’s goal for 2004 is 100 percent participation.
Individual
qualifications range from the Bronze to the Diamond Award. To
receive an award, each individual must have a minimum of two hours
of FAA regulations training, in addition to a number of hours of
training in aviation maintenance-related courses. In order to
qualify for a Diamond Award, for example, an individual must have
100 hours of FAA approved training during the calendar year.
“The FAA recognizes the ongoing hard work of our repair
station employees,” said Jim Schuster, Chairman and CEO of
Raytheon Aircraft. “Training is a vital part of our business,
and it’s encouraging to see both the employees and the
company rewarded for the commitment and dedication it takes to stay
on top of this business.”
Raytheon Aircraft designs, manufactures, markets and supports
Beechcraft and Hawker aircraft for the world’s commercial,
military and regional airline markets.
