Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"It's difficult to respond until we've heard directly and in detail from the FAA."

Source: Illinois Department of Transportation spokesman Mike Claffey. On Friday, backers of establishing a third Chicago-area airport in Peotone, IL received an unanticipated response to their submittal of two plans for the airport: the FAA won't look at the proposals until proponents settle on one of those plans. The submission of two plans for approval, with the intent of having the FAA select the best, was the result of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's hopes of resolving a dispute over rival visions for the single-runway airport.
