Bell 505 Begins Service at Kayfly

Will Train German Flight School Students

German flight school kayfly signed a purchase agreement for a single bell 505 to join its 2 Bell 206s already in inventory. 

Based in North-Rhine Westphalia, kayfly has trained future generations of helicopter pilots for almost 20 years, offering individualized curriculum and world-class equipment. To diversify their offerings, they also offer sightseeing adventures, shuttle service, and omni-functional helicopter chartering for European and global customers. Kayfly pilot and CEO, Kay Stabenow, has found the Bell 206 to be a wonderful all-around aircraft. 

“For many years, the Bell 206 has been an excellent training platform for our pilots, we look forward to modernizing our fleet and providing world-class pilot training using the Bell 505,” she said.

“Kayfly has been a loyal Bell customer and we are thrilled that they will be operating a Bell 505 for their training operations,” said Duncan De Velde, managing director, Europe and Russia. “The Bell 505 is an excellent training aircraft that combines an affordable price point with low operating costs and advanced technology – all essential factors for operators seeking a modern training aircraft.”

The Bell 505 has seen a strong opening, selling more than 300 across 55 countries, recently passing 75,000 flight hours fleet wide. Debuting in 2013, it quickly gained notoriety for its adaptable cabin design, cost efficiency, and standard glass cockpit. Each Bell 505 comes equipped with a standard Garmin G1000 NXi, a convenient suite of systems for those operators looking for more future-proofed purchases. Like most avionics of its type, it provides easier pilot workflow, enhanced situational awareness, and moving map displays, but the NXi boasts a crisper display and faster processing than others. The system, like the G1000 up to now, should age quite gracefully, requiring less maintenance and refurbishment than traditional gauges.
