Commemorative Air Force Announces FIFI Ground School

Crew Being Assembled For 2015 Tour

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) has set dates for ground school open to CAF Colonels who would like to join the FIFI tour this summer.

According to the organization, there are some select positions open for the summer, including B-29 ground crew, ride desk and flight crew positions. There is plenty of work involved when touring an aircraft like FIFI, but the fun and rewards are tremendous. Participants must be a CAF Colonel, Preservation Colonel or Life Member and also must be a member of the B-29/B-24 Squadron. Volunteers should be in good health as the days on tour are long, hot and the work may be strenuous. It is not a requirement to live in Texas to participate, many current crewmembers come from all over the U.S. and even overseas. Crewmembers are expected to travel for at least two weeks at a time. Specialized training for dedicated individuals is available.

For those interested in the B-29 Ground School, a two-days class will be open to anyone interested on February 7th and 8th this year at the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Attendance is priced at $29. This will defray the costs associated with the event, including training materials, lecture room rental, chair and table rental and Saturday lunch.

The classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
