United Airlines ALPA MEC Reelects Capt. Todd Insler As Chairman

Retains His Seat On The Board Of United Continental Holdings

Capt. Todd Insler, a 23-year veteran Boeing 757/767 pilot at United Airlines, was unanimously reelected chairman of the United Master Executive Council (MEC) of the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) on Tuesday, January 9. Capt. Insler will also retain his seat on the board of directors of United’s parent company, United Continental Holdings Inc.

Tom Murphy, a Boeing 757/767 captain, was elected MEC vice chairman; Bill Neveu, an Airbus A320 captain, was reelected secretary; and Rick Cameron, a Boeing 757/767 captain, was reelected treasurer.

“The 12,700 pilots of United Airlines will be well-served by this team of experienced officers elected today. These unanimous election results send a powerful message of pilot unity as we enter into a new round of contract negotiations,” said Capt. Insler. “We look forward to working together to improve the lives of our pilots and their families.”

“On behalf of my fellow MEC officers, members of the MEC, and the United pilots we represent, I would like to express my appreciation for the service and dedication of outgoing vice chairman Capt. Bob Fox,” said Capt. Insler. “Capt. Fox served his fellow aviators with distinction and honor during his many years of ALPA service on the MEC.”

The new slate of officers will begin their two-year terms on March 1, 2018.
