A Little Justice is Done: $27 Million An-2

Follow-up: An-2 to be Auctioned

Acceeding to the wishes of Ana Margarita Martinez, duped former wife of a Cuban spy, Circuit Judge Allen Postman has ordered the Monroe County (FL) Sheriff's Office to seize <<A class="" href="http://www.aero-news.net/news/sport.cfm?ContentBlockID=0D5037C8-E7ED-4573-A587-687A5514004C" target=_blank>STRONG>the An-2 Colt biplane that was flown by eight Cuban refugees to the USA on November 11. Its pending auction will be advertised for 30 days; and then it will be sold.

The proceeds will go to partly offset a $27 million judgment against Cuba, awarded to Ms Martinez, who was duped into marrying the spy. Since she didn’t realize she was being so used, she had claimed she had been repeatedly raped by her deceitful husband (and the court agreed).

That husband, Cuban spy Juan Pablo Roque, was exposed after the ‘Brothers to the Rescue’ Cuban shootdown of private planes a few years back. He now lives in Havana.

Cuba has demanded the return of the airplane. [They are welcome to it... for $27 million --ed.]
