Lineman Gets 'Propped'

Worker Walks Away In One Piece

We all know that walking around moving aircraft can be dangerous business. However, one Ohio man recently discovered how one moment of inattention nearly cost him an extremity, if not his life.

A lineman for an aircraft service company was injured Monday night at Dayton International Airport after an airplane propeller hit his left arm. Fortunately, the 20-year old man did not lose his arm, said Phil Spaugy, vice president of Aviation Sales Inc., the man's employer. "He's going to be fine," Spaugy said.

The incident occurred when lineman was trying to direct an aircraft into a parking space when the moving propeller hit his arm at about 8:10 p.m. Almost immediately, the man, whose name was not released, was taken to the nearby Miami Valley Hospital

No information was given on the worker's condition, but it's safe to say he's counting his blessings.

The FAA report doesn't add a lot to to our understanding of the incident... the "left engine" on a C206?
