Family Remembers Greg Connell

Air Show Pilot Fatally Injured During Georgia Performance

The family of air show pilot Greg Connell, who was fatally injured Saturday when his plane went down during a performance at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Georgia Saturday, has posted a remembrance on his website.

"A beloved husband to Ginger Fox Connell, he also had a great circle of friends. He was greatly loved by these friends and family. And he’s going to be missed.

“Outside of Greg’s large circle of family and friends, most knew Greg as an accomplished Aerobatic Airshow Pilot. However, his family and friends will be quick to tell you that Greg was way more than just a pilot who entertained hundreds of thousands in Airshows throughout the United States.

“Gary Ward probably said it best:

'Greg was a true-blue American. He believed in the country. He believed in the principles this country were founded on and was a very patriotic individual.'

"This loss is being felt throughout the aviation community. Greg’s passion for flying grew into his hobby of entertaining hundreds of thousands in Airshows throughout the United States. He is well respected in the aviation community in the Augusta, GA area and also with the close knit Aerobatic community throughout the United States."

The site goes on, highlighting many of the major events in Greg's life and career. A memorial service was held Wednesday. The Family is asking that memorial contributions be made to:
