Boeing Becomes Campaign Issue For Trump, Sanders

Dem Calls Company Tax Cheats, Rep Says It May Move To China

Presidential Candidates on both sides of the political spectrum have used Boeing as a talking point as they look for votes.

On the GOP side, front runner Donald Trump has said that he thinks Boeing is planning to shut down the plant it only recently opened in North Charleston, SC and move that operation to China. Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders has the planemaker on his list of tax cheats.

Meanwhile, Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has been accused of being too close to Boeing, according Forbes contributor Ted Reed.

While other candidates have not mentioned Boeing specifically, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Sanders have said that the EXIM bank should come under additional scrutiny.

Reed said Boeing declined to comment about the accusations. The company employs about 160,000 people, about 90 percent in the U.S.
