Embraer and Brazilian Air Force Collaborate on ISR Missions

Embraer, Brazillian Air Force, to Joint Venture on ISR

Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force have embarked on a collaborative venture to explore the potential adaptation of existing platforms for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions. The announcement was made at the International Air and Space Fair (FIDAE) in Santiago, Chile. The focus of these studies will be on platforms that are already operational within the Brazilian Air Force, notably the C-390 Millennium.

Lieutenant-Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Commander of the Brazilian Air Force, emphasized the importance of continually assessing the force's capability to fulfill its missions in the current landscape while also preparing for future challenges and technological advancements. The objective of the studies is to ensure that Embraer's platforms can be effectively adapted to meet the evolving demands of ISR missions, thereby enhancing commonality and technological independence.

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, highlighted Embraer's proven expertise in modifying its platforms for various purposes. The collaboration with the Brazilian Air Force is expected to broaden the range of solutions available to address the operational needs of ISR missions, not only for the Brazilian Air Force but also for potential international customers. This initiative marks a significant step forward in the longstanding partnership between Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force.

The studies undertaken by Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force will play a crucial role in advancing the capabilities of ISR missions, ensuring that they remain effective and responsive to the ever-changing requirements of modern warfare and surveillance.
