Growing Hong Kong Carrier Doubles Down on Boeing

A Hong Kong based carrier has bolstered its fleet of Boeings with a stout order for 15 737-9 aircraft, with another agreement to purchase 5 787 Dreamliners.

Greater Bay Airlines has been operating a fleet of 3 737-800s throughout its brief life so far, flying to Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, and Seoul. With expansion plans in the near future, the company expects to source additional 737-800s to slot in before the delivery of the newest batch of 737-9s.

"The 737-9 will allow GBA to open up new routes from Hong Kong with unmatched economics," said Wong Cho Bau, chairman of GBA. "The new order will bring fantastic growth possibilities to GBA and enable us to strive for excellence in an innovative way for our valued customers."
