March Of Dimes, Continental Airlines Auction Off Seat On 777 Delivery Flight

Bidding Starts At $10,000

If you like to fly first-class, the March of Dimes and Continental Airlines have a once in a lifetime opportunity for you and a friend -- two seats onboard a factory-fresh, even-newer-than-new Boeing 777 as it makes its first journey ever from Seattle to one of Continental's hubs.

The auction will be held from February 12-21 on internet auction site eBay. The package includes two round-trip seats aboard the inaugural flight of the newest Boeing 777 for Continental Airlines on March 22-23. The winning bidder will be among a group of elite, pampered passengers on the flight, which also will include Continental's Chairman and CEO Larry Kellner, other Continental senior executives, and top business customers and partners of the airlines.

Funds raised by this highly coveted flight will be donated to the March of Dimes, to support its efforts to provide newborn babies adequate health care.

The Delivery Flight package includes two round-trip, first-class tickets from the winner's home airport to Seattle, WA.; one night accommodations at the Renaissance Hotel in Seattle; an exclusive tour of the Boeing factory, dinner with Continental and Boeing executives; seating on the brand new 777 Boeing aircraft to either Newark or Houston; and a return flight to home airport.

The trip won't come cheap... with the minimum bid set at $10,000. Continental officials say the plane in question is the next-to-last Boeing 777 ordered by the airline.

"We're delighted that our national sponsor, Continental Airlines, is making this offer available," said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "Continental is a special and important partner to the March of Dimes. We appreciate this invaluable opportunity and commitment from Continental to help raise money for the March of Dimes, and help give babies a healthy start in life. The winning bidder is sure to have a unique experience and enjoy the first-class amenities."
