Avidyne Announces AML-STC For AXP340 Panel-Mount Mode S Transponder

Unit Includes ADS-B Out For 2020 Compliance

The FAA has awarded an Approved Model List-Supplement Type Certificate (AML-STC) for the Avidyne AXP340 Mode S Extended Squitter Transponder for installation in over 1,000 general aviation aircraft makes and models. Operating on 1090MHz, the AXP340 meets the mandate for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) for general aviation aircraft operating in the United States and internationally.  This AML-STC provides approval of the AXP340 when installed with the Avidyne Entegra Release 9, IFD440, IFD540, or legacy GNS430W/ GNS530W as its precision GPS position source.

“We are very pleased to make this AML-STC available to our dealers in the U.S. and around the world, for our customers installing the AXP340 transponder to meet the requirements for ADS-B,” said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne's CEO.

Avidyne’s AXP340 is a 1090MHz extended squitter (ES) Mode S transponder that meets the requirements for U.S. and international mandates for ADS-B OUT. The AXP340 has a retail price of $3,995 and is available now. Connector kit and Mounting Tray are included. Antenna is sold separately.

This AML-STC will be made available to Avidyne dealers around the globe to streamline the installation process and allow customers easier access to ADS-B solutions.

Avidyne has also announced an AXP322 Remote-mounted Mode S transponder, as well as MLB100/MLX200/MLX210 universal access tranceivers for ADS-B compliance.
