Harrison Ford Thinks Daley's Vandalism is 'Unbelievable'

Pilot/Actor Goes on the Record During Promo Interview

Chicago Sun-Times entertainment writer Bill Zwecker started his coverage of Harrison Ford's new movie, Hollywood Homicide, with this bit of entertainment trivia: "Chicago native and Hollywood megastar Harrison Ford went after Mayor Daley with all the intensity of Indiana Jones Saturday. As this reporter sat down to chat with the actor about his upcoming Hollywood Homicide, the first thing on Ford's mind was the 'murder' of Meigs Field. 'How does it feel to live in a city where the mayor tears up an airport?' Ford asked me. 'I was furious. I don't think I've been as angry about anything in a long time."

Ford went on to say he's "...all for parks. Parks are great, but so are airports, especially one created to allow for the most spectacular arrival to an architectural masterpiece, which is Chicago."

Chicago already has roughly 37 miles of lakefront dedicated to parks. It has no other lakefront -- or GA -- airports. Daley originally tried to get Meigs closed by the feds, on "security" grounds. "Security," in fact, was his original explanation for the midnight destruction of the airport; he later recanted that BS story, after Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, publicly stated there had been no credible threat -- present or anticipated -- posed by Meigs.
