FAA Grants Multiple Internet STCs To Innotech

I-Ku Pairs Innotech Software, Technology With ViaSat Terminal, Worldwide Yonder Network Service

Innotech Aviation has received multiple FAA STCs for its I-Ku airborne high-speed Internet system for installation on Bombardier Global Express aircraft. Innotech is completing installations at its Montreal facility. European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval is in process.

The I-Ku system incorporates the ViaSat VMT-1500 airborne high-speed Internet terminal and delivers data and voice connections using the worldwide coverage of ViaSat Yonder®  service for the highest speeds available in the industry.

Using proprietary software applications developed by Innotech, users on in-service aircraft enjoy simultaneous access to high-speed Internet service, Voice over IP (VOIP), Voice Wi-Fi, and other office-in-the-sky applications. Simultaneous on-board connection can be made with any wireless devices, such as laptops, Blackberries, iPhones, and iPads.

Innotech Aviation, director of sales and marketing, Tony Rawlinson said, "The I-Ku system supports the growing demand for seamless connectivity from home or office direct to the aircraft. With a fixed monthly service fee of approximately $6,000 for unlimited worldwide access, and the fastest airborne Internet service on the market, the system is a must for aircraft owners looking to maximize connectivity and the overall value of their aircraft."

The I-Ku system can be installed in 10-15 days, depending on the aircraft configuration, and weighs less than 45 lbs.
