FAA Awards PMA To Cool City Avionics

Parts Manufacturer Approval Granted For New SAS-100 Stability Augmentation System

The FAA has awarded Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) to Cool City Electronics (dba Cool City Avionics) for its SAS-100 Stability Augmentation System. This is the company’s first PMA approval, which permits it to manufacture and market its SAS-100.

The PMA was awarded after an intensive audit of CCA’s Quality Management System that was focused on how the company designs and manufactures its products. "The granting of this PMA approval is an important step in the expansion of our business. We are proud of having achieved this milestone," said Jim Irwin, President/CEO.

CCA has already received the FAA TSO for its SAS-100 Stability Augmentation System, as well as the STC for its installation in Robinson R44 helicopters. The company expects to receive the TSO for its FT-100 Force Trim System in June, along with the STC for its installation in the R44. The company is in the final stages of FAA certification for four of its Automatic Flight Guidance Control Systems for helicopters.

Cool City Avionics develops and manufactures modern, innovative automatic flight guidance control systems for General Aviation helicopters and airplanes.
