TRU Simulation Equips Tunisian Air Force With New Gear

Delivery Included an Operational Flight Trainer and Computer Lab

TRU Simulation and Training recently announced their delivery of a Beechcraft T-6C Texan II Operational Flight Trainer (OFT) and Computer Based Training (CBT) lab to the Tunisian Air Force. The device aims to accelerate training at the Sfax Air Force Base following their acquisition of eight Texan II aircraft last year.

TRU Simulation and Training is a manufacturer of training devices and full-motion flight simulators. They are an affiliate of Textron Aviation Defense, which has produced integrated training systems for military customers since WWII. Their fleet, containing more than 1,000 of their Beechcraft T-6C, has logged over 5 million hours across two NATO military flight schools since 2001. It is a subsidiary of Textron Aviation.

The Beechcraft Texan II OFT provides procedural and instrument flight training in multiple customizable scenarios. It features a detailed replication of the aircraft’s cockpit with genuine hardware, a visual system with a 70-degree vertical by 270-degree horizontal field of view, and a responsive seat. It aims to assist military pilots and maintenance technicians throughout their training process. Their latest delivery to the Tunisian AF will be the first of its kind in the region.

“As the first TRU-built Beechcraft T-6C OFT in the region,” commented Jerry Messaris, Vice President and General Manager of TRU Simulation, “this marks a significant milestone in TRU Simulation’s commitment to advancing aviation training technology globally. The dedication and expertise of our team have been crucial in achieving this milestone, and I am immensely proud of their hard work and commitment to excellence.”

Along with the Texan II OFT, TRU Simulation delivered a Computer Based Training (CBT) Lab. This contains eight workstations, two Avionics Desktop Trainings (ADT), and field services.

“It is a privilege to commemorate the integration of the device into the Tunisian Air Force,” Messaris continued.
