DHL's HQ Leaving 'City That Works'

Moving For Warmer Climate, Better Deal

DHL Airways, Inc. on Tuesday announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Miami (FL) from Chicago. Effective May 15, 2003, the company will assume corporate operations at One Biscayne Tower in downtown Miami.

"Chicago is truly a 'city that works' and it has afforded DHL Airways a great business climate to grow and prosper in," said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John H. Dasburg. "However, we have restructured the management team for DHL Airways and given the geographic locations of several of our members, it just makes good sense to relocate our headquarters location."

"Florida's unparalleled support for growing businesses, as well as the economic and geographic benefits offered by the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County, made the choice to move our operations clear and simple," said Dasburg. "Governor Bush, Mayor Alex Pinelas and Mayor Manny Diaz deserve a great deal of credit for making Florida and Miami an attractive place to do business."

"We're excited to have DHL Airways as the newest corporate resident of Florida," said Governor Bush. "Their decision to move is evidence of an extremely supportive business community in South Florida, a resilient economy, and a state that values innovation, corporate excellence and entrepreneurial spirit."

Dasburg noted that the state's low cost of living, highly educated workforce, and vibrant, multi-cultural business community were key factors for DHL Airways. "The move to Miami is good not only for our business, it is good for our employees and their families," said Dasburg.

All of the Company's Chicago-based employees will be offered opportunities to continue their careers with the airline at another DHL Airways location.
