FLT Academy Expands Diamond DA20 Training Fleet

Utah Flight School Anticipates Significant Near-Term Growth

FLT Academy is a Utah-based flight-training institution offering flexible and customizable flight-instruction, pilot job-placement services, and financial aid programs to tomorrow’s professional pilots.

FLT Academy acquired ten factory-new Diamond DA20 training aircraft. The deal included an option for ten additional units of the popular single-engine, two-seat, low-wing, fixed-undercarriage, general aviation trainer.

Owing to ongoing and unprecedented growth throughout the aviation industry and the worsening pilot shortage occasioned thereby, FLT Academy expects to expand its fleet by as many as forty new DA-20s over the next three years.

Diamond Aircraft Industries’ DA20 is highly regarded among flight schools as an economical and easy-to-fly training platform. FLT Academy intends to integrate its newly-acquired DA20s into its extant fleet of fifty training aircraft across the school’s Woods Cross and Spanish Fork, Utah locations.

FLT Academy’s fleet currently comprises Diamond’s single-engine, two-seat DA20; single-engine, four-seat DA40; and twin-engine, four-seat DA42 models.

FLT Academy founder and CEO Jason Clark stated: "We are excited to continue our growth by adding these Diamond DA20s to our fleet. As a flight school committed to providing world-class training, we are always looking for ways to improve and provide our students with the best possible learning experience. The DA20 is a perfect fit for our needs, and we are confident that it will help us continue to make flight training more accessible and affordable for our students."

As a training partner of SkyWest Airlines—the aircraft and crews of which operate under the Alaska-SkyWest, American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express banners—FLT Academy employs a faculty of eminently qualified, highly-experienced flight instructors dedicated to helping students actualize their ambitions by making the best possible use of the academy’s state-of-the-art facilities and modern aircraft.
