Airborne 05.15.23: New OSH Procedures, $5B Embraer Deal, Midnight eVTOL

Also: HR 1818, USHST Webinar, SWA Strike Vote, USAF Brass Fired

The EAA has announced a few FAA-approved changes in the AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 arrival & departure procedures.

The most noticeable changes will include a change in the ultralight pattern at Wittman Regional Airport, revised guidance for parking areas in the North and South 40, Elimination of the "Fond du Lac" diversion procedure, and some slight changes to air show schedules. One can only imagine the hi-fives around Embraer when word came in that the company has sold $5 billion in Praetor 500s to longtime customer NetJets Aviation. The sale will provide 250 of the aircraft, which will join the NetJets fleet of similar Embraer models like the midsize Praetor 500 and older Phenom 300. Archer Aviation’s eVTOL, dubbed Midnight, had recently completed a six-week series of tests in RUAG’s Large Subsonic Wind Tunnel in Emmen, Switzerland. On 11 May, the company set forth it had completed final assembly of the first full-scale Midnight aircraft and shipped the machine from Archer’s Palo Alto facility to its Salinas flight test installation, where a ground-testing campaign is to be presently embarked upon. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unlimited!!!
