Principato To Leave ACI-NA

National Search Will Be Conducted To Identify Replacement

Airport Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) President, Gregory O. Principato, announced Thursday that he intends to step down from leadership of the association on June 30, 2013. David N. Edwards, Jr., Chairman of ACI-NA's Board of Directors, thanked Principato for his work on behalf of ACI-NA and the North American airport industry. He said that the Board will begin a national search for a successor and that Principato would continue to lead the association through the initial phase of this transition process.

Principato became President of ACI-NA in July 2005. Principato stated that "I am incredibly proud of the ACI-NA team and what we have accomplished in redefining ACI-NA and its position as the “Voice of Airports” on legislative and regulatory issues in the United States and Canada. After eight years I reached the conclusion that the time is right to seek new challenges and opportunities,” said Principato.

“I have been proud to lead and work with an extraordinary staff and group of professionals in the airport and aviation community. This is a tight-knit industry where you build long-term relationships and friendships,” said Principato. He stated, “I now look forward to opening a new chapter in my professional career.”

Edwards said, “Greg has been a strong advocate for our industry during his tenure as President of ACI-NA; he has served with a high degree of professionalism, and will be missed.”  At the same time, we recognized that we are in a demanding environment that requires us to now seek a leader that will energize all of us to be the best at what we do.”  Edwards indicated that the Board will assemble a search committee within the next 30 days and hire an executive search firm to begin the recruitment of ACI-NA’s new leader.
