House Small Business Committee To Hold Hearing On Manufacturing

Elite Aviation Products, Actor John Ratzenberger To Testify Before The Panel

Dustin Tillman, President & CEO of Elite Aviation Products, will join actor, producer and Elite's Chief Advisor of Industrialization John Ratzenberger to testify in front of the United States House of Representatives' Small Business Committee. The hearing entitled "The New Faces of Manufacturing" is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 12th, 2016, in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The 22 legislators sitting on the Committee chaired by Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH) will hear the challenges facing small businesses and the peripheral companies affected by the changing climate of American manufacturing. Ratzenberger will share his experience of working with thousands of small business manufacturers over the past 20 years and what legislators can do to stem the decimation of our skilled workforce.

Elite will share its reshoring efforts (bringing manufacturing jobs back to America) and forward-looking strategies to address the impending shortage of skilled labor to support the growing domestic manufacturing sector including a robust Veterans training initiative. With manufacturing output in the United States having increased in nine of the last thirteen quarters and tens of thousands of baby boomers retiring every day, it is estimated that nearly three and a half million manufacturing jobs will need to be filled over the next decade.

"It's been a primary goal of ours since we started the company to bring manufacturing jobs back to America. I know I can speak for the entire company when I say it truly is an honor to testify before congress and collaborate on real solutions to these issues," says Tillman. "We hope that our firsthand experience will help shed some light on what legislators can do to help support this tremendous growth in the manufacturing sector."

John Ratzenberger is most widely known for his role as "Cliff Claven" on Cheers, as well the only actor to voice a character in every Pixar film. As creator, executive producer and host of "John Ratzenberger's Made in America" on the Travel Channel, John shared his history with American ingenuity in his book "We've Got it Made in America: A Common Man's Salute to an Uncommon Country," which cemented his role as the voice for American manufacturing. He advocates for reshoring American jobs and works tirelessly to bolster the skilled-labor force needed to fill these jobs. John works with politicians on both sides of the aisle to strengthen our manufacturing industries and to support companies such as Elite Aviation Products in their initiatives to employ American veterans.
