Newlyweds Lost In MT C310 Accident

FAA Report Cites Engine, Icing Problems

A Maryland couple flying back from their honeymoon were lost when their Cessna 310N crashed this weekend in southeastern Montana.

A relative tells The Associated Press pilot John Doshier, 51, and his wife Sue, 54, were returning home Sunday from spending their honeymoon at a friend's cabin in Bozeman when their plane went down. The two were married September 29 in Tulsa, OK.

Carter County Sheriff Rusty Jardee said the plane impacted a field 20 miles southwest of Ekalaka. The aircraft slid about 120 feet, and caught fire.

"It was overcast, but the visibility was not bad at the time," Jardee said.

According to the FAA Preliminary Report on the accident, the plane's pilot reported problems with icing and the aircraft's engines before the 310 (type shown below) crashed.

FAA spokesman Mike Fergus says the plane departed Bozeman Sunday morning, en route to a fueling stop in Baraboo, WI. The aircraft crashed at around noon Sunday, local time.
