Hawaiians Spooked by Chinese Jetliner

Some Say it Missed Residential Building by 30 Feet

Residents of the 41-floor Century Center said the Saturday incident was too close for comfort.

Some, who lived as low as the 12th floor of the office/residence, said they could see individual passengers through the plane's portholes, as it swooshed past.

Others, on the ground, said the China Airlines 747 [!] disappeared behind the building, on the way to its landing in Honolulu.

How low was it? That 12-floor resident said she could see individuals. How close was it? A lady, who was on the fourth-story recreation deck, said the wing passed above her. What does the FAA say? The agency's Tweet Coleman offered this non-sequitor: "We're doing an investigation on it, so I really don't have any specifics at this time."
