The B-29 Superfortress known as Doc will bring its B-29 Doc Flight Experience Tour to Branson, MO, September 3 and 4, 2020.

Doc will arrive at Branson Airport (BKG) Wednesday afternoon, September 2, and will be available for B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4. The event will be hosted by Branson JetCenter at Branson Airport (130 Wright Brothers Road, Hollister, MO 65672, www.bransonjetcenter.com).

The flight schedule for the B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides will be 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.,Thursday, September 3, and 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Friday, September 4.

Doc’s Friends, Inc., is taking all reasonable precautions to protect the B-29 Doc crew as well as passengers in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. All B-29 Doc Flight Experience passengers will be required to wear a mask (one will be provided to each passenger) during the flight. Additionally, the aircraft and all contact surfaces inside the aircraft will be sanitized/disinfected prior to each flight.

Doc is a B-29 Superfortress and one of 1,644 manufactured in Wichita during World War II. Since 1987 when Tony Mazzolini found Doc sitting and rotting away in the Mojave Desert, plans were made to restore the historic warbird to flying status to serve as a flying museum. Over the past 15+ years, hundreds of volunteers have worked on Doc and the restoration project. Skilled workers and retirees from Wichita’s aviation industry, veterans, active duty military and others wanting to honor those who served, have spent tens of thousands of hours on Doc’s restoration. Countless individuals and organizations also made financial and in-kind contributions to keep the project going.
