GSA Selects L3 For F-16 Pilot Training

Initial Award For The US ANG And USAF Reserve Command Has Four Additional Option Years

L3 Link Training & Simulation has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to provide F-16 pilot training system support for the U.S. Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force Reserve Command to ensure mission readiness. The initial award has four additional option years.

“L3 is pleased to build on our collaboration and demonstrated success in providing pilot training to the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command,” said Lenny Genna, President of L3 Link Training & Simulation. “For years, we have provided F-16 training devices and programs that support pilot and maintainer initial, qualification and continuation training. Our trainers maximize operational readiness and reduce overall cost by replicating multi-aircraft training events and tailored operational scenarios.”

As part of the Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) program operated by the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command’s Training Systems Support Center, L3 will provide training system support for training stations at nine locations in the U.S. Training will include operation and emergency procedures, as well as tactics that enable pilots to detect, identify and determine the orientation of targets with the same fidelity as they would on an actual sortie.

This award for the competitively won MTT program is the second F-16 training-related award for L3 in recent months. In late 2018, L3 was awarded the F-16 Simulators Training Program from the U.S. Air Force.
