NBAA Selected For Inclusion In International Air & Space Hall Of Fame

Recognized For 65 Years Of Advocacy Work

The (NBAA) will be inducted into the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s International Air & Space Hall of Fame in recognition of NBAA’s 65 years of advocacy for the industry. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen will accept the honor on behalf of the Association on Nov. 16, in a ceremony to be held at the museum.

The induction ceremony also marks the International Air & Space Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary. Individuals or organizations are chosen for the hall of fame for contributions to the aviation, space or aerospace industry.

“NBAA’s induction recognizes the excellence of these individuals and the leadership role exhibited so well by NBAA over the years,” said Jim Kidrick, president and CEO of the San Diego Air & Space Museum. Kidrick pointed to NBAA's growth from just 19 Member Companies at its founding in 1947 to more than 10,000 Members today as evidence of the organization’s value and leadership in the industry.

“I am honored to accept this recognition on behalf of everyone associated with NBAA, both currently and in the past,” said Bolen. “Throughout its history, NBAA’s strategy has been to effectively leverage the efforts of our committed Board of Directors and Associate Member Advisory Committee, professional staff, and an unbelievable network of members, all of whom are willing to dedicate their time and expertise toward the promotion of business aviation in the United States and around the world.”

NBAA’s fellow International Air & Space Hall of Fame 2013 inductees include Apollo 16, NASA’s Mission Control, US Airways Flight 1549 ("the Miracle on the Hudson"), former American Airlines CEO Robert Crandall, World War II Triple Ace Bud Anderson and others.

The International Air & Space Hall of Fame is housed in the San Diego Air & Space Museum, California’s official air and space education center, and an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.
