TSA Settles For Detaining Palm Beach Doctor

An Expensive Apology At That

A Palm Beach County, Florida doctor has received a settlement and an apology from a federal government agency.  Doctor Bob Rajcoomar says, in the days just after 9/11, racial profiling was the only reason he was pulled off a Delta flight in Philadelphia and held in a jail cell for several hours.

The Transportation Security Administration settled with Rajcoomar for $50 thousand and apologized for the extreme actions taken by air marshals.

Part of the settlement included an agreement to retrain air marshals to avoid racial profiling.  Rajcoomar says he is satisfied with the terms of the agreement, but added he will never fly with Delta again since it failed to apologize for the ordeal.
