Aero-News Featured Aero-Casts: Dueling VLJs?

Listen As ANN Talks About The Eclipse 500 and HondaJet

Even if you're a new reader to Aero-News (welcome!) you probably already know how proud we are of our Aero-Casts, and how we're looking to expand our use of this exciting technology very, VERY soon (we're talking days here, folks.)

While we freely admit to having a whole lot of fun exploring this new form of media, the most important benefit to you, our readers, is that it allows us to bring the news to you in an entirely new way.

Sometimes, reading the news just isn't enough -- you need the sights, the sounds, the vocal intonations... the intangibles that print media just can't always convey. Today, we're spotlighting two of our earlier Aero-Casts, that share a common thread.

E-I-C Jim Campbell Talks About The Eclipse 500

ANN Correspondent Chris Armstrong On The HondaJet

First up is our own Editor-In-Chief Jim Campbell, discussing some of his opinions on the Eclipse 500. It's no secret that Jim likes this new Very Light Jet A LOT, and he's been able to log some impressive flight time at the controls of one of the test aircraft, too.

Next, listen to ANN Correspondent Chris Armstrong talk about another VLJ featured at Oshkosh this year, the very impressive HondaJet. While Honda has officially maintained it does not intend to market the aircraft (its first ever) to consumers, it's hard to deny the company has spent an awful lot of money and time on what it calls a "test program."

(Those of you who like cars may recall that Honda's Acura NSX sports car started as a "test program," too, right up to the moment the company started selling the car against Ferraris. Come to think of it, the HondaJet is almost exactly the same size as the Eclipse...)

Chris has extensive experience with aircraft design, that gives him a unique perspective into some of the design solutions Honda arrived at with their airplane -- including the laminar flow wing and nose, and the pylon-mounted overwing engines.

Check out these two Aero-Casts today -- they'll take about fifteen minutes combined to listen to -- and then feel free to share your thoughts with us!

Remember if it's IN the air, we've got it ON the air... with Aero-News Aero-Casts!
