Anti-Prince Harry Aviation Award Petition Mysteriously Quashed

Negative Reaction To Living Legends Of Aviation Award Reached Well Over 12,000 Before It Was Censored

The still-growing controversy to include the self-outcast Royal Prince Harry among some of those who have either innovated aviation, walked on the moon, and/or put their lives on the line for others has taken an interesting turn.

On Friday, the increasingly questionable "Living Legends of Aviation" program awarded Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, an award for being a 'Living legend of Aviation.' In the days prior to this occurrence, an aggressive bit of controversy developed in which military leaders from the UK, as well as others from the aviation spectrum, protested the action... using terms like Bizarre, Preposterous and Phony.

The program's reputation was not aided by another award given to helicopter pilot and business owner Lauren Sanchez... the fiancee of Jeff Bezos, one of the richest men in the world... and a sure bet for future fund raising aid, no doubt. Media coverage of the event was often critical and emphasized the glitz of the proceedings while decrying the lack of substance in the award selections, recently and previously. Others plainly wondered how these recent selections compared to the likes of Bob Hoover, Buzz Aldrin, Alan Klapmeier and others who truly benefitted the world of aviation through skill, courage, innovation and sacrifice.

One of the most intriguing protests occurred as a number of persons put forth a petition on Change.Org, criticizing Prince Harry's award and asking that it be rescinded. As many as 2000 people a day signed the petition, and they were closing on the target of 15,000 'signatures' when the petition was mysteriously taken down due to 'community guidelines' issues which surely make it appear that someone, or someone's lawyer, raised a ruckus and scared Change.Org into censoring the petition just as the award was ready to be presented. As of this writing, the petition is still not available, while a simple graphic notes the petition is under review and is not currently available... though it may reappear at some future point... long after the point of it all has been lost.

Change.Org has not responded to our inquiries, or to those of several others... and quite a few folks have decided to abandon the platform as a result.

We'll have more info, if and when, it becomes available.
