NBAA Salutes AOPA's Craig Fuller Following Retirement Announcement

Bolen Calls Fuller A "Highly Effective Champion" For GA

NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen issued a statement Thursday following an announcement by AOPA president and CEO Craig Fuller that he would step down from the organization this year.

“Craig has been a highly effective champion for the general aviation community, in large part because he has been a cohesive figure with a big-picture perspective," Bolen (pictured) said in the statement. "He has always understood that by working together and leveraging our strengths, a group as large and diverse as the GA community can accomplish great things. His inclusive approach has proven highly effective in bringing our industry together to help advance our shared legislative priorities and build support in Congress, in particular through the formation and growth of the House and Senate General Aviation Caucuses. Although Craig will be missed by many in our industry, we wish him only the best in all his future endeavors.”

In a story first reported by ANN, Fuller announced Thursday that he has notified the association’s Board of Directors of his intent to step down this year. Fuller, who took office in January 2009, will remain in his current role with the organization as its Board conducts a search for a new president and makes the transition to a new administration.
