Mile-High Club Goes Respectable

Eight Couples Got Hitched on Song 737

They left Orlando single, and arrived in Las Vegas married on Monday. Eight couples, who won their flights on a radio contest, rang in Song Airlines' new Orlando-Las Vegas service by getting married enroute. The "walk down the aisle" alone, at their (air) speed, probably covered twenty or thirty miles...

We must assume peanuts and soft drinks were served at the reception, and that the band was hampered by not being allowed to carry their instruments aboard.

There may have been some logistics problems with the venue, as well. For instance, which state issued the marriage license; and in which state(s) was the ceremony performed? Was the union legal? Hey -- it's for publicity, it's too late to worry about this stuff, and everybody's happy -- we'll leave it for the heirs to sort out.

No one seemed to notice the irony of the destination -- you know, it's easy to get married on the ground in 'Vegas...
