Airborne 07.06.21: Eviation Alice, Telly Award!, Falcon 6X Program

Also: 2022 WAI Scholarships, Final G550 Delivery, Ascent Fines, DPE Reform

Eviation Aircraft has unveiled the design for its Alice all-electric aircraft, which is on track for first flight later this year.

The production configuration, optimized based on real-world lessons learned and customer feedback, defines Alice's path to certification and entry into service expected in 2024. Alice, a nine-passenger, two-crew member aircraft, produces no carbon emissions, significantly reduces noise, and costs a fraction to operate per flight hour. The aircraft is powered by two magni650 electric propulsion units from magniX. The advanced fly-by-wire system is made by Honeywell. The single-volume, high-energy density Alice battery system is made from currently available battery cells and is not reliant on future advancements. Recently; ANN's Airborne video news program, hosted by Yours Truly, supervised by Nathan Cremisino, and Executive Produced by Jim and Masako Campbell, won an international media award. For the first time in the Aero-News Network's quarter century history, the network brought home a Bronze People's Telly award for our Airborne Unlimited news program. A third Falcon 6X recently took flight and joined Dassault Aviation’s flight test campaign, moving the new long-range extra widebody twin a step closer to anticipated certification in 2022. Falcon 6X s/n 003 is fitted with a full interior and will be used for cabin design validation. The aircraft completed a two-hour maiden flight on June 24, climbing to Flight Level 400 and accelerating to a cruise speed of Mach 0.85. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
