Thrane & Thrane Receives PMA Cert For New SwiftBroadband WiFi System

Company Says Aero-SB Lite Is The Lightest, Smallest To Be Certified

Thrane & Thrane received Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) Tuesday for its latest SwiftBroadband solution, Aero-SB Lite. The Aero-SB Lite is the lightest, most compact SwiftBroadband solution on the market to be awarded PMA certification by the FAA.

Commenting on the PMA certification, Thrane & Thrane Director for Aeronautical Sales North America Andy Beer said: "Receiving PMA certification is a key milestone for any aeronautical product and we are delighted to have gained the approval for Aero-SB Lite. The compact and lightweight SwiftBroadband solution offers users a broad range of cost-effective Voice and Data services, providing true office in the sky technology."

The Aero-SB Lite enables broadband suitable for a wide range of aircraft. Thane & Thane says its full SwiftBroadband data functionality provides the ultimate in quality of service and lower costs in terms of initial investment and operation.

Thrane & Thrane says that by incorporating of the internet, email, VPN, fax and telephony in one package, Aero-SB Lite "exceeds the ongoing requirement to provide a true office in the sky." The system offers built in WiFi capability and VoiP technology, where users can utilize their own compatible handsets or WiFi enabled PDA devices. Additionally, the data and voice functionality of Aero-SB Lite can be used simultaneously ensuring total flexibility for the end user.
