U.K. Dog Owners Cautioned To Be Aware Of Drones

Pet Dalmation Snatched From Home, Drone Thought To Be Used To Check Out The Property

Dog Owners in the U.K. are being warned to be on the lookout for drones over their properties after a rare liver-and-white dalmation dog was stolen from a home in Leicestershire.

The U.K. newspaper The Telegraph reports that the dog went missing on December 1 from the home of Chloe Hopkins. Earlier, Chloe's mother Gemma said she had seen a drone flying over her garden.

The dog and its bed went missing from the kitchen of the home. They apparently entered through a structure attached to the home.

Gemma Hopkins said that they live in a small community and she is sure it was not one of her neighbors flying the drone. The thieves likely used the aircraft to check the property, looking for an opportunity to steal the dog.

Dog thefts are reportedly on the rise in the U.K., and drones are apparently the latest high-tech tool that not only dognappers but other thieves are using.

So now, dog owners in the U.K. are being warned that if they see a drone flying over their homes, they should report it under the country's new drone regulations, as it could be a thief checking out their properties.
