Goodbye AirKaman, Hello Signature

Signature Acquires AirKaman/Cecil Field

Signature Flight Support… Signature Flight Support says it's acquired the assets of AirKaman at Cecil Field (VQQ) located in Jacksonville (FL). Cecil Field is located some 15 miles of west downtown Jacksonville and serves as a reliever airport for the Jacksonville Airport Authority (JAA). Cecil Field provides an effective base of operations for corporate aircraft, general aviation, air cargo and military activity.

"This is a unique opportunity for Signature. We are honored to serve existing based tenants, which include Boeing, US Customs, US Coast Guard, US Navy and the Dutch Air Force," said Beth Haskins Signature's President and CEO. "It is a strategic choice due to our existing facility at Jacksonville International Airport. Because of the proximity of the existing base to Cecil Field and the experience of our Jacksonville team, we view this acquisition as a logical step in our commitment to growth."

Signature Flight Support took over operations of the base on May 6, 2004. The main terminal building is undergoing current renovations through a $1.5 million grant secured by the Jacksonville Airport Authority.
