Golden West Fly-In Rescheduled To Late June

Original Date Conflicted With Other Event

Aero-News has learned organizers of the Golden West EAA Regional Fly-In at Yuba County Airport (MYV) in Marysville, CA have rescheduled their 2007, event to June 29 through July 1. The change is due to a scheduling conflict with another aviation-related event in the Sacramento area.

Golden West -- which is preparing for its ninth fly-in this year -- was originally scheduled June 8-10, but elected to move the date when the California Capital Air Show scheduled its event for the same weekend.

"We opted to move it to later in June rather than earlier because the potential for wet weather is greater near the end of May and early June," said John Gibson, Golden West president. "We wanted to keep it in the month of June and as close to International Young Eagles Day (June 9) as we could."

Organizers say Golden West offers attendees a close up look at hundreds of aircraft -- including homebuilts, antiques, aerobatic, ultralights, hot air balloons, racers, WWII warbirds and current military aircraft. New aircraft from general aviation, homebuilt and sport plane manufacturers will also be displayed.
