Unleaded Avgas STC Available via Online Shop

GAMI Streamlines Purchasing Process for G100UL

General Aviation Modifications, Inc (GAMI) has announced the formation of its online G100UL STC shop, allowing operators a streamlined, simple way to take advantage of their new unleaded avgas.

The wide-ranging STC received last year covers all gasoline powered aircraft and engines within the FAA’s type certificate database are approved to use G100UL. GAMI points out that their G100UL product is "the first and only FAA-certified, totally lead free, high octane avgas". The company is eager to make G100UL available in California in mid-2023, with additional coverage throughout the West Coast in 2024. From there, the invasion will continue inland, with expanding availability anywhere it can reach.

GAMI says that uptake of the STC will help to "hasten the national availability of the fuel", even if G100UL is not available in their area yet. Full scale, coast-to-coast availability will hopefully be achieved by 2026. To help defray the cost of the STC, they offer some early bird incentives, with a $100 rebate on a first purchase of G100UL fuel for customers who buy prior to February 28, 2023. Another bonus is a 10-year waiver on the cost of STCs for replacement engines for those purchasing the STC before June 30, 2023.

STC purchases run "about what a tank of 100LL currently costs", and will need all the usual info for purchase (N-number, aircraft model and serial number, engine manufacturer, serial number). Delivery is done via PDF for immediate availability, with placards and paperwork arriving around 10 days later.
