Adacel To Supply ATC Tower Simulator To Colombian Air Force

TSS Includes Four Trainee Positions Covering All Aspects Of Traffic Control

The Colombian Government has awarded a contract to Adacel Systems of Orlando, FL to supply an air traffic control (ATC) tower simulator system (TSS) to the Colombian Air Force.

The Adacel MaxSim TSS will include four trainee positions for Local Control, Ground Control, Flight Data and Radar Control. The simulator includes Adacel's state-of-the-art speech recognition system. A comprehensive Instructor Operating Station (IOS) provides instructors with complete pseudo pilot functionality and the capability to control and modify the running scenario. Also included are scenario generation tools to create, edit and save training scenarios. The out-the-window tower visual system will be made up of seven high-definition displays. Auxiliary information data displays will also be provided. The system will accommodate both individual and team training in the control tower disciplines.

The MaxSim simulator will be deployed to Bogota, Colombia. Instructor and operator training on the system functions will be conducted by Adacel on site at the installation facility following delivery. In addition to the initial warranty period the program also includes 48 months of extended warranty for hardware and software support with remote software updates.

Adacel's ATC simulators are designed to provide air traffic controllers with realistic hands-on practice that provide proficiency training to assist controllers achieve and maintain their certifications. System footprints range from full-sized 360-degree enclosed versions to compact, easily transportable packages for rapid deployment to alternate training locations.
