USAF Wows 'Em At Moscow Aviation and Space Show

A Few Scenes That Would Have Been Unheard Of Not So Long Ago

The Air Force has some interesting photos to share from the recently concluded Moscow Aviation and Space Show.

Capts. Kieran Denehan (above, left) and Gary Berger sign autographs at the Moscow Aviation and Space Show (at Zhukovsky Airfield) on Aug. 22. They are B-52 Stratofortress crew members from Minot Air Force Base, N.D. This is the first time U.S. military aircraft have been on public display in Russia. Four other U.S. military aircraft were on display there: an F-16 Fighting Falcon, an F-15E Strike Eagle, a C-130 Hercules and a KC-135 Stratotanker.

Maj. Wayne Straw (above, right) talks about the finer points of the F-15E Strike Eagle with Russian Air Force Lt. Col. Oleg Mutovin on Aug. 22 at the Moscow Aviation and Space Show. Straw is an F-15E weapons systems operator from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England. Mutovin is a fighter test pilot. This is the first time U.S. military aircraft have been on public display in Russia. Also, the F-15 Eagle performed a daily aerial demonstration.

Capt. Gary Berger signs his autograph for a Russian visitor Aug. 22 at the Moscow Aviation and Space Show. Berger is a B-52 Stratofortress crew member from Minot Air Force Base, N.D. This is the first time U.S. military aircraft have been on public display in Russia. Four other U.S. military aircraft were on display there: an F-16 Fighting Falcon, an F-15E Strike Eagle, a C-130 Hercules and a KC-135 Stratotanker. [ANN Thanks Master Sgt. Kenneth Fidler for the Photos... Good Eye, Guy!]
