Kite Flyer Chastised By British Police

Helicopter Landed To Tell Him He Was Flying Too High

A British man's kite-flying outing was interrupted recently when a Bristol police helicopter pilot landed to tell him he was flying it too high.

According to tweets posted by National Police Air Service (NPAS) Filton, the pilot landed to remind the kite flyer that kites are not to be flown above 240 feet. His was at about 1,000 feet when the police helo landed.

The BBC reports that no action was taken against the man. The helo pilot reportedly took the opportunity to explain why it was dangerous to fly a kite too high. He told the BBC that a small airplane had crossed the area where the kite was being flown at about 500 feet of altitude.
