Growing concerns over the environment, local businesses, and the community have led Sagarmatha National Park officials to consider placing a ban on commercial helicopter flights. The park, home to the famous Mount Everest, draws in upwards of 100,000 visitors per year. The FAA is investigating an incident at Orlando’s Lake Eola holiday performance. Several drones dropped from the sky during the routine and landed in the crowd, injuring a seven-year-old viewer. The Holiday Drone Show, held at Lake Eola Park, was the third consecutive year of operation, with the event consistently drawing in crowds upwards of 25,000 people. After more than 18 months of fighting a drone sale ban in the US, DJI has earned some legislative relief. The Countering CCP Drones Act, despite passing the House earlier this year, was left out of the FY2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
