Aero-News Featured Aero-Cast: The UK's Patrick 'Paddy' Casey

A Leading UK Aero-Publisher Talks To ANN

Whether you're a global CEO in the market for the latest Gulfstream, or merely a C172-jockey with significantly higher aspirations -- or a penchant for dreaming big -- World Aircraft Sales magazine, a staple in finer FBOs both in the states and across the pond, has probably found its way into your flight bag at least once.

To open its pages is to transport yourself into the rarefied world of corporate aircraft and opulent accommodations, where even the most... cost effective... offerings still fall into the "if you have to ask..." category for most of us.

Patrick Casey, known as "Paddy" to his friends, is publisher of WAS, as well as Europe's GA Buyer magazine. He, too, is no stranger to thinking big -- in addition to the world of print media, Casey also runs Avbuyer.com, a website devoted to aircraft sales, as well aviation news and events throughout Europe, and the world.

Now you can listen to Casey's opinion of how general aviation in the UK is perceived worldwide, in a sit-down chat with Aero-News Senior Editor Pete Combs, on today's featured Aero-Cast!

Today's Featured Aero-Cast: Patrick Casey

"I think you guys perceive we have more problems than we have" in the UK, says Casey in the interview. "Thank God we've got some sensible people that work in the Civil Aviation Authority in the UK and other authorities that work for us, these things are becoming down to a sensible level now. Aviation continues to spite it."

Also listen as Casey tells of his plans for the Aero Expo, an international exhibition (hint -- don't call it an "air show") planned for June 23-26 of next year. British aviation gatherings leave something to be desired, according to Casey, and he again wants to think big.

"I don't want [Aero Expo] to be quaint," says Casey. "I want it to be a professional aviation exhibition!"
