Guardian Mobility Announces STC For Beech 1900 Aircraft

Northern Thunderbird Air Chooses Guardian For Flight Tracking

Guardian Mobility announced today that its Guardian 3i tracking device has been granted Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval by Transport Canada for installation in Beech 1900C and 1900D aircraft.

Northern Thunderbird Air is a Canadian company specializing in air charter services in the Pacific Northwest. They fly scheduled and non-scheduled flights to remote areas and operate several bases.

In recent years the company has recognized their need to track their aircraft as part of an effort to continually improve flight safety. "We looked at several options, but most were overly complicated for our needs, and expensive to implement," said Bill Hesse of Northern Thunderbird. "We chose Guardian as a cost effective way to optimize our dispatch operations and implement our safety protocol."

Northern Thunderbird, like many other mid-sized charter operations, is adopting flight tracking as part of their Safety Management System (SMS) and plan to outfit their fleet of Beech 1900 aircraft with Guardian tracking devices. In addition, Northern Thunderbird enjoys the ability to display to customers a real-time feed of their aircraft locations using Guardian's advanced mapping system, customized to show Northern Thunderbird's landing strips and other company landmarks.
