President Travels To Michigan Monday - TFR Announced

Yet Another TFR To Make Flying Tougher

President Bush will be in Dearborn, Michigan, on Monday April 28, and the United States Secret has directed the FAA to issue a 10 nautical-mile, <10,000 feet AGL TFR in effect from centered on various areas from 11:30 a.m. local through 2:45 p.m. local time (EDT). Pilots planning to fly in the area should read and understand the latest NOTAM to ensure compliance with the TFR. (FAA's FDC NOTAM 3/3213 issued Friday afternoon appears below.)

Places To Avoid

Pilots are to avoid the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center unless they receive USSS authorization. Otherwise flight operations within the 10 nm ring are prohibited unless on an active IFR or VFR flight plan with a discrete transponder code assigned by ATC. Pilots must remain in two-way communications with ATC. Also prohibited within the TFR are flight training, practice instrument approaches, aerobatic flight, glider operations, parachute operations, ultralight flights, and hang gliding.
