Air Show Pilot Inks Movie Deal

Andy Anderson Signs With Forbes Films To Adapt "The Golden Countess"

Christopher Forbes, Director and Producer of Forbes Films, announced Thursday that an agreement has been reach with Author Andy Anderson to produce a feature film based on Anderson's novel "The Golden Countess"

Air Show Pilot Andy Anderson

Anderson is one of the pilots who perform as "Red Star and The Dragon" at airshows. The show's website describes the performance as "The combination of two totally different Jet Warbirds dueling it out in the skies above your show with a complete story line." Anderson flies in the role of "The Dragon" in a BAC Strikemaster.

The novel, however, draws on Anderson's experience as a commercial diver and salvage instructor. He served as a U.S. Army diver from 1971-1977, and has logged 10,000 hours underwater.

"I devoured 'The Golden Countess' in an afternoon after receiving the book and I have to tell you I found it a very enjoyable read. I think Andy did a great job with the Mike Edwards character and I imagined that a big part of that character is autobiographical. He reminded me a little bit of Ed Harris in "The Abyss", except with a better sense of humor. We are looking forward to a great long lasting relationship with Andy, this will be a great adventure movie and it looks like it will be a lot of fun to produce," said Forbes.

Anderson has published two novels, the other being "The Eagle's Talon."

"This is a great opportunity for me and I know an opportunity like this is considered to be the "Holy Grail" for a writer. I can not thank Christopher enough," Anderson said.

Work has already started on adapting the novel to a working screenplay.
