Airport Professionals Gather At Record-Breaking Inter Airport China

Eighth Edition Of Inter Airport China Breaks All The Records

A total of 4,314 industry buyers filled the aisles at the latest edition of inter airport China. In what was already a record-breaking edition in terms of exhibition space, the largest ever inter airport China also broke visitor records, equating to a 22% increase on the visitor number from the 2016 show.

Nearly 250 of the world's leading suppliers and brands displayed the latest technologies, equipment and solutions to visitors responsible for delivering China's ambitious airport infrastructure and development plans. inter airport reflected the many opportunities in the Chinese market with exhibition space at the show increasing by 20% on the previous edition hence becoming the largest inter airport held outside of Europe.

Daniel Shi, Vice President of organizer Mack Brooks Exhibitions Shanghai comments "inter airport China is the must attend airport event for the Chinese airport sector and those looking to establish or strengthen their presence in this market. This show reflects the great opportunities available in China. Plans are already underway to further enhance the show for 2020. Feedback from exhibitors has been excellent and the show has clearly delivered both quality and quantity of visitors. Extra additional exhibition space will be made available for the next edition."

During the opening ceremony Mr. Ren Yu, Deputy Party Secretary of China Aviation Suppliers Holding Company explained, "Since 2004 inter airport China has become the largest professional exhibition in the field of airport development in the Asia Pacific region. The first seven exhibitions have achieved great success, fully demonstrating the latest developments in global airport development, cutting-edge technologies and equipment, whilst establishing a platform for exchanges and cooperation between domestic airports and world-renowned airport equipment suppliers. The show continues to play a positive role in the construction and development of our national airports"

Exhibitors reported a very successful three days at the show. Michael Schneider, Executive VP of Siemens, Postal, Parcel and Airport logistics GmbH said, "We have new projects and in fact we have been awarded new contracts and we want to meet our customers and celebrate with our colleagues in a vibrant marketplace. inter airport is the place to be and a key exhibition in this market and why we choose to come here every time."

In addition, the exhibition also welcomed over 250 delegates to the high-level conference sessions hosted by lead media partner Civil Aviation Management Magazine. They also organized an extensive drop-in seminar program in the hall.

Prevailing subjects in the aisles, on the stands and in the conferences were the large number of hub and regional airports being vigorously constructed during China's '13th 5-year plan'. It is estimated - according to Mr. Ren Yu - that by the end of the current 5-year plan 260 trunk airports will be built and more than 500 general airports will be completed and operational. These projects will provide a multitude of business opportunities for equipment manufacturers and suppliers of airport equipment all over the world.

Daniel Shi further explained, "Requests for exhibition space were already coming in for the inter airport China 2020 and preparations are well under way for the next edition, which will be held once again in Beijing. We expect to announce the exact dates in summer 2019. Companies who are planning to exhibit at the 9th edition of inter airport China are recommended to contact us as soon as possible. Although extra space will be made available, it is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis."

The next inter airport of the next exhibition of the inter airport series will take place in South East Asia - Singapore from the 27th February to 1st March 2019 before it returns to Munich for the "mother show" inter airport Europe from the 8th-11th October 2019.
